Zeaxanthin is heavily concentrated in the retina. Supplementing with zeaxanthin has been suggested in a number of studies to lower the risk of ocular diseases associated with aging, including macular degeneration and cataract. Exciting new science now suggests that zeaxanthin can also efficiently inhibit diabetes-induced lipid peroxidation in the retina. |
